Race 5 – Halifax to Le Havre

The final race of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta from Halifax, Canada, to Le Havre, France, is set to be an exciting and inspiring ocean voyage. You’ll enjoy a fantastic Canadian send off before setting sail for the month-long momentous voyage across the Atlantic Ocean.

Life on the ocean is seldom boring. You’ll experience magnificent sunsets, spot marine wildlife and seabirds, and embrace the unique challenge of racing with other Tall Ships across the ocean. Twenty-four-hour operation of the vessel will mean working with your fellow crew mates in “watches” at different times of the day and night as you sail towards Le Havre. Adjusting sails, working in the galley, learning navigation and meeting crew mates from all over the world are just some of the experiences on board – creating truly unforgettable memories.

You’ll cross the finish line off the famous Eddystone Lighthouse off the south-west coast of England, and celebrate this fantastic achievement of an ocean crossing. Depending on time, vessels will be able to explore the beautiful coast of Cornwall and Devon, or visit picturesque French harbours before meeting up for spectacular festivities in the final port of Le Havre.
