Get ready for a true ocean adventure during Race 2 of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta.
The fleet is sailing more than 3,000 nautical miles during this thrilling Transatlantic sailing adventure, following in the wake of great explorers. The race will include a 48-hour stopover in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, to replenish supplies, before setting sail with the Trade Winds across the Atlantic Ocean to Bermuda, British Overseas Territory.
Ocean sailing can bring varying weather conditions, so you won’t get bored. Changing and setting sails, learning navigation, or helping in the galley are just some of the tasks you’ll enjoy as part of life on board. The routine of the ship should often allow for quiet times to appreciate endless sunsets and starry skies, relaxing with crew mates and enjoying the views of the open ocean.
Arriving in Bermuda will be a special moment, as you celebrate crossing the finish line after a month at sea. The international sailing spectacle will be in full swing, as Bermuda will be hosting the 35th America’s Cup at the same time as the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta. The combination of traditional and ultra-modern vessels will create a fantastic and welcoming atmosphere on the island. You can expect turquoise seas, beautiful beaches and warm Caribbean hospitality.
