Race Report 5: Provisional Results Are In

Provisional results for Race One (Constanta to Novorossiysk) are in. These results remain provisional until all ships are in port and have handed in their race declaration forms.

At 16:00 GMT (19:00 local) the time limit came into force and ships recorded their positions in order that they could then switch on engines and motor into Novorossiysk in time for the Opening Ceremony on Friday.

  1. Mir (Russia) and 2nd overall
  2. Nadezhda (Russia)
 and 3rd overall
  3. Kruzenshtern (Russia) and 4th overall
  4. Pogoria (Poland) and 6th overall
  5. Kaliakra (Bulgaria) and 8th overall
  6. Royal Helena (Bulgaria) and 9th overall

Provisional Results Race One Combined Classes B, C and D


  1. Akela (Russia) and 1st overall
  2. Adornate (Romania) and 5th overall
  3. Atyla (Vanuatu) and 7th overall
  4. Vityaz (Retired)

Akela has already arrived in port and the remaining vessels are now heading into Novorossiysk where they are expected to arrive before 12 noon (local) on Friday (16 September).

You can track the ships using the YB tracking system, a device carried by each vessel with live tracking updated every 15 minutes.

Meanwhile the Port of Novorossiysk is making final preparations for the arrival and subsequent festivities. Public access will be from 16:00-19:00 on Friday and 10:00-19:00 on Saturday and Sunday.
